Karen and Matt had their engagement session with me recently in their beautiful garden at home in Penkridge (linkie) … I admit I was extremely envious of their green-fingered efforts ! Well, it was soon time for us to meet up at Somerford Hall for their vintage inspired wedding. After the cracking sunshine of their engagement session the weather for the wedding was very different … but as I say to all my brides, if it rains, it’s only water and we can work around it! This did nothing to dampen the spirits of the day and I even managed to get everyone out in a light shower for the large group shot, right before dinner (thanks, everyone!).

You may remember Jemma and Ben from their recent Engagement Session at Stafford Castle (linkie) … well it wasn’t too long before we were gathering for their wedding at Sandon Church and Hall. As the guys were getting ready on route to where the girls were, I was able to drop in and take some shots with them … man, it was chaos ! I ended up ironing shirts and generally helping with button holes and calming a very stressed out groom (who is normally very laid back LOL) … but soon it was time for them to board the party bus and head off to the church, leaving me to go and see my bride and her girls. They were a lot more organised and chilled, ok champagne helps with that ! The ceremony was lovely, followed by a fun-filled reception up at Sandon Hall, the weather was very kind to us on the day and everyone had an absolute blast.

And so, a few favourites from the day … enjoy !

Yvonne and David probably have the biggest long distance relationship I’ve ever encountered … David lives and works as a commercial airline pilot in Dubai, while Yvonne lives in Coatbridge in Scotland ! Just wow ! So of course getting together for their wedding was extra special … at least they got to see each other LOL

The whole day was spent at Langley Castle, a beautiful venue nestled in the countryside to the west of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. David decided on kilts for the men as a nod to Yvonne’s heritage (and he suited it too) while Yvonne went for a beautiful tight fitting, flared spangly number. The whole day was filled with fun and laughter, a total blast !

I recently had the pleasure of joining Lisa, Mark and their family and friends to celebrate their wedding at The Moat House in Acton Trussell. I started the day with Lisa and her family at home, while everyone got ready for the day ahead. Mark’s mother is a florist and all I can say is WOW to the displays in the church and later in the venue! Lisa looked stunning in her gown with that wonderful cathedral length veil (all my brides know I have a thing for veils) and of course Mark scrubbed up well too!

A few faves … enjoy!

It’s been a busy few weeks as you can imagine, with both weddings and engagement sessions … I recently met up with Alison and Dave who are getting married this weekend in Nuneaton before heading to the Ramada for their reception. I am shooting Alison’s sister’s wedding (2 part) later this year, so I think by the end of the year I will feel like a long lost relative LOL

We headed over to Trentham Gardens for the shoot … it was a particularly hot, sunny day and so while Dave queued for us to get in, Alison and I grabbed some ice creams … yum !

A few from the shoot … see you this weekend !

Karen and Matt had their engagement session at home in their beautiful garden … I have to say I was a little envious of their obvious passion for gardening (I’m rubbish LOL) … they are also a shy couple and so this was preferred to going somewhere with lots of people around. They are getting married this weekend at Somerford Hall, a stunning venue, so fingers crossed the weather plays ball for us too !

Oh, I have been neglecting my poor blog … sorry guys ! It’s just that time of year. The fun time, with loads of weddings and shoots …

I had the pleasure of joining Faye, Chris and their family and friends at The Ashes recently, for their wedding celebrations. We were blessed with great weather, fun and laughter throughout the day … starting with Faye completely forgetting about Dad as she walked down the aisle ! Hilarious ! The Ashes is a beautifully restored set of barn conversions, very contemporary (even the loos had a vaulted ceiling LOL) and the guys were so excited that a foal had been born 5 days before the wedding … so cute !

Without further ado … the wedding !
