I recently had the pleasure of meeting up with one of my December wedding couples, Vicky & Haydn, at one of my favourite spots, Shugborough Hall.  The day was cold and crisp, so we were all hopped up in warm clothing.  The sun did make an appearance on occasion, which really makes the grounds of the estate lovely and warm in the sunny glow.  The wedding is at The Ashes and is only now a few short weeks away … time really does fly !  See you soon guys !!

I had the pleasure of shooting the newborn photos of the Glavin’s little son, Haydn, 3 months ago.  It was soon time to get some updated photos, so this time the family came to me for a couple of days, to hang out, chill, cuddle (and smell … yum) the baby, and get some new photos done.  Haydn is such a great little baby, but mum and dad are so chilled about it all, it’s not really a wonder.  At 3 months, he’s starting to get a strength in his neck which meant sitting and posing, as well as lifting his head while on his front, was a doddle.  What a total cutie !

And so, a couple of weeks later, it was time for the wedding … Carol got ready at the hotel, so we had some serious logistics to deal with that day !  The wedding was in Hartford in Cheshire near where I lived before moving to Stafford, so it was lovely to be back in my old stomping ground.  Carol looked stunning in her beautiful dress and was surrounded by her fun girlfriends in  the morning as they all got ready in the same room.  The weather stayed good for us pretty much all day, thankfully as there are some stunning views from the hotel.  We spent some time having photo fun with their friends, with one particular groomsman trying to wind me up and losing, very good fun ! … and so, a few from the day …

Carol and Peter are both doctors, working all hours and actually spending a lot of time apart with their conflicting schedules … so it came as no surprise to any of us that finding a suitable time to get together for an engagement session was so tough … we finally got together a couple of weeks before the wedding, so we incorporated the wedding pre meeting with a few shots of them and their beautiful little doggie.  While we were having a nice cuppa at the cafe, Carol spotted a heart in her tea !

I’m a little behind on blogging, so the wedding will be the next post … a few from the shoot …

I have known Becky since we worked together in Ireland 15 years ago … so when she asked me to take some portraits of her and her family for her parents 40th wedding anniversary, I jumped at the chance.  I suggested we meet at one of my favourite venues, Shugborough Estate, full of lovely autumn colours and some sheltered areas in case we had issues with the weather … we were up against it on time, as we had a week to sort out framed prints for the anniversary gift ! … so no opportunity for a second chance on this one.

Becky’s brother and his family came along too … the biggest surprise for their parents was to have photos of the whole family together, for the first time!  You will probably recognise George, Becky’s little boy, from previous posts, but I had yet to meet Archie and Charlie … such sweet, fun little boys.  And such good friends, all three of them.  In fact, we couldn’t prise George’s toy cars from Charlie the whole time.  To add to the challenge of shooting such young children, I was told that Charlie may be difficult as he is autistic.  But honestly, he was the sweetest boy all day and we had a lot of fun together.

A few of my favourites from the session …

I will never tell you what was happening behind my back in order to get this shot LOL
