I thought I’d give you all an awwwww moment on this gloriously sunny Wednesday (ok, it’s gloriously sunny HERE haha) … my BFF Becky recently folded and agreed to getting a puppy.ย  They had always had rescue (older) dogs before and so a puppy was a very new venture for them.ย  They felt that with their son George being only 7 it would be fab for him to grow up with a smaller dog, rather than bringing in one that is already bigger than him … very sensible.

So, enter Jerry,ย  very adorable and lively Collie cross (with what, we’re not sure, but I’m thinking Lab) … absolutely adorable, don’t you think?

Actually, I am so far behind on blog posts, they are married … but I really enjoyed this engagement session up at Shugborough Hall … as many of you know, my favourite place to shoot portraits … I am constantly finding new locations in the spacious grounds, as well as using some favourite locations too !

Yes, that is an actual, honest to goodness, tilt-shift lens … and if you think Melissa looks gorgeous in these, just wait for the wedding photos !!

Enjoy, and thanks for looking ๐Ÿ™‚

I often get enquiries for an engagement shoot for a couple who are not getting married in this country.ย  This was the case with Deborah and Kendrick, both living and working in London but getting married in Hong Kong in a few days time.

The shoot was to happen in London, so we made our route plans and met up ready for our adventure through some well known sights … Deborah wore a Vera Wang for the shoot with Kendrick choosing Hugo for his suit of choice.ย  We had a blast driving all over London and stopping off at various locations … we only got moved on by the mighty Met Police once (pretty funny and he was so nice … I think the Vera had something to do with that LOL).

Here is a small selection from the day … huge congrats to you both, guys, I hope it all goes really well for you this weekend in HK !!

I am often asked if I do anything other than wedding photography … in order to keep myself fresh I do take on a limited number of portraits and, on occasion, other stuff too … this includes business headshots which can be used for a multitude of things.ย  I got contacted a few weeks ago by an ex groom of mine, Jamie, who is now running his own (very successful) gym equipment business.ย  He needed a few headshots for use on his website and in brochures.ย  But the main reason for this particular shoot was to get an image for a magazine article featuring him and his company !ย  Jamie confessed to being nervous about the shoot, but really relaxed the more we progressed.

We did all the usual images that would be suitable for an article, its pretty standard stuff and I know what these guys are after.ย  We had just about finished and I asked Jamie if I could take a shot for himself, actually, as a gift for his beautiful wife, Audrey … he obliged … and this is it …

I think you’ll agree this is a lovely, relaxed portrait, taken in my home proving that with the right light you can create portraits anywhere !

Thanks for looking … why not leave Jamie a nice comment ๐Ÿ™‚

Emma and Paul are getting married soon at Chatsworth House, a rather stunning stately home nestled in the beautiful Peak District … by all accounts, and knowing these 2 as I do, this will certainly be a bling affair … personally, I’m looking forward to my first ever ride in a golf cart, but then I’m a bit odd LOL

It was really great to meet up with them at my absolute favourite location in Staffordshire, Shugborough Hall … I know, you’re all probably getting sick of it, but whilst there are definitely locations I use every time, because they’re yummy, there are also loads more locations even I haven’t discovered yet … so we went exploring to find some, and of course, being Summer, we found some amazgin colour and foliage as well. Happy photographer.

So, say hi to Emma and Paul … looking forward to seeing you both soon !

I recently posted a sneak peek from this shoot, but thought I would do a proper post and show some more … Paul is my IT guy and also a photographer who has worked with me over the years … I love getting together with them all and hanging out, and of course taking some photos while we’re at it !ย  We decided that a picnic at Shugborough would be a fabulous idea and, what with it being my favourite place to shoot, we should grab some family portraits while we were there.

I’ll stop blethering and let you see some photos …

Like them?ย  Well, I can do this for you and your family too … give me a shout !

This little face will be familiar to some of you who follow my blog … my friend Becky’s son, George, who I have been photographing since he was born !ย  He’s now a bouncy, intelligent and fun 7 years old … where did THAT time go !!

I popped over to Becky’s last week and she rather sheepishly pulled out the school photos that George had brought home … well, all I can say is … actually, my Mother told me “if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all” … moving on.

I told Becky to bring George over to see me in his school uniform so that I could take a few shots of him that mum and dad would treasure, rather than cringe at, to record this time of his school life.ย  It’s so important to remember what they looked like at every age, every stage in their life, so I was happy to oblige.ย  So, after a play on the iPad (he got a little addicted to a block game LOL) I managed to get him all comfy and took some portraits.

These are my favourites … I hope you like them as much as I do.
